Haiti
Following the devestating earthquake that struck Haiti in January 2010, The ALNAP lessons paper on 'Responding to earthquakes: Learning from earthquake relief and recovery operations' and the findings of the Tsunami Evaluation Coalition have proven to be vital resources on what lessons can be learnt from previous humanitarian crises and applied to the Haiti experience. In the weeks since the quake struck, the lessons paper has been downloaded over 3,000 times. As such ALNAP has been at the forefront of shaping the media debate on these issues and has contributed to the following TV and print media:

Innovation
The announcement of a £3 million innovation fund by the UK Department for International Development, made at the 25th ALNAP annual meeting in London, was reported by Reuters AlertNet 18/11/09
Aid effectiveness
ALNAP Director, John Mitchell, responded to an article by Sam Kiley in the Times (UK) which called for an end to food and emergency relief shipments to Africa, with a letter to the Editor 28/10/09.
