About us

Transtec is a Belgium-based independent and entirely management / employee-owned international development company working in the fields of development, peace-building, good-governance and humanitarian aid. Transtec builds on 30 years of experience and knowledge management, maintained by its personnel who have successfully designed and implemented around 5,000 complex projects and programmes in more than 150 countries to date. Headquartered in Brussels, Transtec has 6 regional offices staffed with 42 in-house employees and deploys an average of 150 professionals in the field in Transtec-led assignments world-wide at any given time.

Transtec has an in-house Monitoring & Evaluations department headed by Marco Lorenzoni with specialised in-house staff and a consolidated worldwide network of evaluators and monitors. The Department has developed a strong expertise in the evaluation of humanitarian responses of different international organisations and donors, and in the provision of studies, assessments and monitoring to valued clients such as UNHCR, UNRWA, UNWOMEN, UNDEF, MFA Norway, EC/ECHO, DFID, NORAD, WFP, DANIDA, SIDA, UNDP, MCA, LuxDev and GIZ. Since 2000, Transtec has managed and implemented more than 450 evaluations worldwide.

Recent flagship evaluation assignments include:
- UNHCR Syria Response Evaluation
- ECHO Country Portfolio Evaluation Pakistan
- M&E System for DFID Somalia’s multi-annual Humanitarian Programme
- UNDEF Framework Contract for evaluation
- CTB Education Framework Contract for evaluation

In our monitoring and evaluation practice, we follow clear guiding principles that ensure high quality and a rigorous evidence-focus for each evaluation. We employ an evaluation approach that is participatory and which maximizes learning and serves strategy and policy reflection and/or formulation.
