The purpose of the evaluation is to review IRIN’s products and services, learn from this and provide accountability to OCHA management, donors and other stakeholders.

Consistent with OCHA’s corporate approach to evaluation, and the overall purpose as outlined above, the main objectives of IRIN evaluation is to:

  • Examine the extent to which IRIN has contributed to advancing OCHA’s advocacy mandate
  • Assess the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, value-added, and impact of IRIN’s products and services; and

Provide actionable recommendations at both the strategic and operational levels on how IRIN might be strengthened to improve its effectiveness and/or modified in light of changes in the humanitarian context and advances in communication technologies.
