Evaluative Reports Database (ERD)
The Evaluative Reports Database (ERD) is ALNAP’s key tool to facilitate information-sharing and lesson learning amongst humanitarian organisations. The ERD is a bibliographic collection of evaluative reports of humanitarian action. Although the collection consists primarily of evaluation reports, it also includes lesson learning studies and other kinds of reviews. A typology of reports can be viewed on the FAQ page.
Any humanitarian organisation may submit a report to the database, but all ALNAP Full Member organisations are expected to do so on a regular basis.
The ERD does not currently publish full reports, but provides links to those already published on the internet, and where possible, makes available key sections of the report on the ERD. Key sections available on the ERD are the report’s contents page, executive summary, terms of reference, principal findings and methodology.
Although the majority of reports held in the database are available publicly, a minority are confidential. In accordance with the wishes of the commissioning agencies, access to these reports is restricted to Full Members organisations and individuals only.
Some reports have been submitted to ALNAP on the understanding that they are only made available to ALNAP Full Members. These can be accessed through the ‘ALNAP only’ section of the database with a login and password, obtainable from the ALNAP secretariat. If you are an employee of an ALNAP Full Member organisation and would like to apply for access to the 'ALNAP only' section of the database, please use the online form accessible on the right.
