Evaluative Reports Database (ERD)
The Evaluative Reports Database (ERD) is ALNAP’s key tool to facilitate information-sharing and lesson-learning among humanitarian organisations. The ERD is a bibliographic collection of evaluative reports of humanitarian action. Apart from evaluation reports, the database also contains other evaluative reports, such as lessons studies, reviews, synthesis reports and good practice studies. A comprehensive list of the types of reports is here.
Any humanitarian organisation may submit a report to the database, but all ALNAP Full Member organisations are expected to do so on a regular basis.
The ERD makes available key sections and the full report, where possible. Key sections available on the ERD are the report’s contents page, executive summary, terms of reference, principal findings and methodology.
While the majority of reports held in the database are available publicly, a minority are confidential. In accordance with the wishes of the commissioning agencies, access to these reports is restricted to ALNAP Full Member organisations and individuals only.
Some reports have been submitted to ALNAP on the understanding that they are made available only to ALNAP Full Members. These can be accessed through the ‘ALNAP only’ section of the database with a login and password, obtainable from the ALNAP secretariat. If you are an employee of an ALNAP Full Member organisation and would like access to the members-only section of the database, just create an account and you will be given access.
