DFID's new strategy on evidence and innovation for humanitarian practice

In November, the ALNAP Secretariat contributed comments to DFID’s consultation ‘Towards Evidence-based Humanitarian Practice’. DFID has now produced a strategy paper promoting innovation and evidence-based approaches to building resilience and responding to humanitarian crises. This strategy prioritises for action many areas which are of great importance to the ALNAP Membership, and which form part of the Network’s work stream for 2012, including:

The strategy also addresses the key issue of risk and risk tolerance in the humanitarian sector, both within and beyond DFID. The Network looks forward to collaborating with DFID around these important issues.
