Drought-related emergencies: Translations of ALNAP's latest Lessons Paper now available

Posted on 15 April 2012

ALNAP’s latest Lessons Paper ‘Humanitarian action in drought-related emergencies’ has been translated into French, Spanish and Arabic.

The 17 key lessons for humanitarian agencies responding to droughts identified in the paper are of particular relevance for the response to the current crises in the Horn of Africa and the Sahel.

The Lessons Paper is especially aimed at people working in relief and recovery operations in drought-affected areas, those who have to decide if, when and how to intervene. It is also designed to assist agencies in designing evaluations and advocacy messages.
