The American Red Cross (ARC) International Services Department (ISD) seeks to prevent and alleviate human suffering around the world by responding to disasters, building safer, more resilient communities, and educating future humanitarians. With programs and partners in 70 countries, the American Red Cross working to strengthen the global Red Cross Red Crescent Network in order to deliver critical assistance to some of the most vulnerable communities in the world, reaching 100 million people annually.

The International Services Department is seeking an experienced Director of International Quality and Learning who has overall strategic and operational responsibility for all program technical units, including monitoring and evaluation.

The Director will provide leadership and technical oversight to a team of dedicated technical staff who assist regional teams in design, monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance of their programs. The portfolio of the unit centers around building more resilient communities, through integrated responses in the areas of disaster risk reduction, community-based health and mobilization, water/sanitation, shelter, urban resilience and rebuilding livelihoods, in collaboration with Red Cross and Red Crescent partners and other actors. The Director collaborates with Regional Directors to lead the Department’s strategy supporting the organizational development (OD) and strengthening of partner Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to achieve their sustainability and organizational effectiveness. The Director reports to the Executive Director, International Response and Programs (IRP) and oversees a team of 12 technical advisors.
