The overall objective of the baseline study is to provide an information base against which to monitor and assess the project’s activities’ progress and effectiveness during implementation and after the completion. The baseline study is intended to provide the project staff with detailed baseline data on key project indicators. In particular, the baseline study will help to:
? To establish the current status of FMNR practices in Odweyne and Burao districts that will help WV to plan, design and implement projects related to natural resource management.
? To provide representative qualitative and quantitative information on FMNR, Natural Resource Management and environmental health improvement
? To critically analyse and triangulate primary and secondary data associated to FMNR and environment management
? Identify and analyse past experience of community in managing natural resource regeneration.
? Identify needs arising due to the effects of natural resource depletion and propose possible ways of intervening to mitigate these effects.
