These guidelines are one of the outputs of a series of activities carried out by the
Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI) over the past five years
around the theme of stakeholder identification and analysis for natural resource
management. These activities began with the compilation of a detailed
bibliography and the preparation of six case studies, with their presentation to
and review at a seminar on “Integrating stakeholders in participatory natural
resource management” which was held in Jamaica in 1999.
