Third Annual Report of the Trust Fund in Support of Victims of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse

This report highlights activities conducted, and contains a financial overview for 2020, along with some more recent updates. The turbulence caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 affected the implementation of projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Liberia. Jointly with the Victims’ Rights Advocate, I sent a message to field missions in April 2020 so that they had guidance on provision of support and assistance to identified victims of sexual exploitation and abuse by United Nations personnel, as well as any new victims who came forward. We were heartened by the excellent efforts of Conduct and Discipline and Senior Victims’ Rights Officers and Field Victims’ Rights Advocates to maintain contact with victims and coordinate support for services, even during the restrictions of movement.
