M&E during COVID-19 series

M&E practitioners are dealing with a myriad practical and strategic challenges due to COVID-19, from rethinking their approaches to evaluation strategy and planning, to relying on remote M&E and data collection.

ALNAP convened a series of skills-building workshops in February and March 2021, bringing over 100 M&E practitioners together to reflect and exchange learning from their work during COVID-19. ALNAP prepared three background papers for the workshops, which were updated to also include key discussion points from the events. This 'M&E during COVID-19' series also includes a paper looking into real-time learning during COVID-19.

2021 ALNAP Meeting | Learning from disruption: Evolution, revolution of status quo?

Over the past 17 months external forces have brought about unplanned and unanticipated disruptions to humanitarian action. The 2021 ALNAP Meeting looked at whether these external shocks have the power to make permanent changes to how the humanitarian system works and who delivers aid.

Learning and support for humanitarian response to COVID -19

Together with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and the Geneva Centre for Humanitarian Studies, ALNAP has published a Rapid Learning Review providing clear guidance for humanitarian staff working on international and national responses to the COVID -19 Pandemic. We are currently working on its revision, which will incorporate new real-time learning.

ALNAP has also set up a COVID-19 Response Portal, which is which is regularly updated with a wide range of learning resources related to COVID-19 and epidemics/pandemics more widely. In order to keep it as useful and comprehensive as possible, we encourage you to upload relevant resources so they can be shared more widely.
