System: performance, policy and practice

Members attend annual meeting

Humanitarian action can be a lifeline to people experiencing the worst that conflict and disaster inflict. Whilst the sector continues to demonstrate improvements, there remains a frustrating lack of progress in key areas.

We support improved system performance through original, high quality research, and by synthesising and amplifying existing evidence and learning. We bring together humanitarians to share existing learning and to exchange experiences and perspectives that inform policy and operational decisions.

Here you can explore our 2022 and previous State of the Humanitarian System (SOHS) analysis, and our work focusing on current themes informing improved policy and practice.
