This paper describes the roles and values of male and female with respect to production, and
marketing of vegetable crops within Accra, Ghana. An attempt has been made to (1) explore
and compare labor divisions and responsibility among members in farming and non-farming
households (2) analyse gendered access to and control of production resources (3)
investigate gender differentiation of constraints and opportunities in urban agriculture in
Accra.
