Urban agriculture can be defined as:
Agricultural production (crops and livestock) in urban and peri-urban areas
for food and other uses, the related transport, processing and marketing of the agricultural produce and non-agricultural services provided by the urban farmers (water storage, agro- tourism, urban greening and landscape management, a/o)
One striking feature of urban agriculture, which distinguishes it from rural agriculture, is that it is integrated into the urban economic and ecological system.
